I. Installation Questions:

1. Do I need to uninstall older versions of AIM or AIM Ad Hack before upgrading AIM or AIM Ad Hack?

In AIM Ad Hack version 3.59 and above you no longer need to, the AIM Ad Hack installer can detect if you've upgraded AIM since the last time you installed AIM Ad Hack and will backup the new installation files correctly.

2. I don't like the new installer, I liked the old AIM Ad Hack that only removed ads and was more simple or I don't want feature X automatically installed. Can you make a light version?

There is a new version more like the 'classic' AIM Ad Hack you remember, you can download it here

II. General AIM Ad Hack Questions:

1. What makes AIM Ad Hack different from other AIM Programs/Add Ons?

AIM Ad Hack is the only program that fully removes the ads and options you don't want in AIM instead of just hiding them. Thats why you may still get pop ups and audio ads in other AIM programs. Also AIM Ad Hack actually modifies AIM itself, it is not a program that loads every time along with AIM like deadaim and after you run AIM Ad Hack once it never needs to be run again until you upgrade to a new version of AIM.

III. AIM Security Questions:

1. Why did you add the security button? I thought you'd not add any features!

There already was security info in AIM but we moved it to make room for this FAQ (evil souls we are) and since we moved it we also were able to improve upon it. It will be optional to add that button in version 3.60.

2. Why do we need any security for AIM anyway, I thought AIM was safe?

There are still many exploits in AIM that people can take advantage of. To be safest you should have a virus scanner, firewall, and encrypt your IM's. Better safe than sorry.
